The Word of God faithfully preached to the Church is one of the most essential aspects of Christian discipleship. Through faithful expositional preaching all the saints grow together in the knowledge of God and in being equipped for ministry.
This is one reason preaching is the central element of our Lord’s Day worship.
One of the best ways to know what we believe is by listening to what is regularly preached. Please check out our sermon archive to listen to the latest sermon.

The Persistent Widow
E kala mai, last week’s sermon on Genesis 19.1-22 was not recorded. This week we take a break from Genesis as Pastor Josh preaches on Luke 18.1-8 and the necessity of perseverance in prayer. Here we learn that we need to be persistent in prayer and unwavering faith. There are four main points drawn from this text: 1) the command, 2) the parable, 3) the assurance, and 4) the challenge.
Marks of the Early Christian Community
In Acts 1.12-26, Pastor Dan Wong (Hawaii Kai Church) helps us see a beautiful picture of the people of God who would make up the early christian community. Here he we see 4 vital characteristics of this community: 1) a commitment to obedience even in difficulty, 2) a devotion to prayer as a community, 3) the primacy of the word of God even in the midst of scandal, 4) a humble deferential submission to God in choosing leaders.
A Call to Prayer
We can often view prayer as ineffective, unproductive, and burdensome. But in 1 Timothy 2.1-4 we find that God uses the prayers of the church to accomplish his purposes for salvation in the world. In this text, the church is called to prayer. And there are three aspects of this call: 1) its priority, 2) its results, and 3) its motivation.
